It's not kindness, more like a pathological need for completeness.

That said, I am getting much better at drawing a line, e.g., by keeping my alternative documentation effort to functions that begin no earlier than Windows XP. I find myself writing "outside the scope of this note" ever more often, and am surprised to find that I am ever less troubled.

Thanks to you and others for their many kind words, but I can't be here for long - not unless I have to give up my Windows research and I then think to make a living from DOS. Somehow, I don't see the latter happening.
