I'm not sure if VBox deserves to be announced here. Concerning DOS, it is the worst emulator. Most old DOS games won't run in it and it doesn't even support a SB device. The one advantage it has compared to its competitors is its USB support, which works with UMBASPI.SYS.

You've mentioned VirtualBox a few times on this forum, so it was mainly directed at you. ;-) Still, I haven't yet tried it, but how could it be worse than QEMU?? At least it's still updated, multi-platform (runs on the main three x86 OSes anyways), etc.

P.S. There's a QEMU/Win32 snapshot from Dec. 13 if you already have the latest 0.9.0 (last updated in February). There's even a patch (w/ precompiled binaries) for a -brake slowdown option (akin to DOSBox cycles). Maybe one of those is better for DOS?

Ah yes, I forgot! Thanks!

It depends. Qemu has SB, VBox has USB. Both are unable to run v86-code natively (that's why IMO VMware is still the best option for DOS) and both have problems with the keyboard emulation in DOS.

It is  Bloated, and doesn't work on DOS - not sufficient evidence of evil ?

I miss DOS among them

I'll have a look. Keyboard bugginess fixed ?
