Final version of Priority Survive released! (Announce) |
In last year we few times discussed Priority Survive, because although it is a windows game, it runs very well in DOS using HX.
Now the final version is released. So you can enjoy the superior graphics, hardly comparable with any other DOS game.
Unfortunately, some annoying issues with mouse cursor remain but the game is playable.
The funny thing is that it doesn't work on my Windows installation more.
I don't know whether is something weird in my Windows or in Priority but it isn't important for me because I will run it in FreeDOS.

This means Japheth should mention it in COMPAT.TXT so that people are aware of this. In fact, surely we could all help tell him what works and what doesn't so we can have a nice, comprehensive list.
For instance, latest 7ZA.EXE 4.60 seems to work fine, but he only mentions old "7z 4". Last I checked, OBJCONV worked too, but I haven't tried the latest release (2.00) yet. And LZASM 0.56 works fine too. But, last I checked, DiStorm no longer worked (newer MSVC compile, needs MSVCRT80.DLL or similar). Of course, some of you may consider that "not a problem", but alas ... defeats the point, IMO. |
