DOS ain't dead

bzip2 v1.0.4 has been replaced by v1.0.5 [2008-03-17]. Explanation is at bzip2 pages:

1.0.4 for DOS is still at djgpp sites, but if anybody cares, a Windows compilation of 1.0.5 is already up at:

I'm glad they fixed it, but it does seem like small potatos (at least, for home users, anyways). Besides, most Linux distros are using really really old software in some cases (e.g. NASM, DOSBox), so it's moot if they don't upgrade.

<sarcasm> Oh noes, mah FreeDOS iz teh compromis-ed! </sarcasm>

P.S. I personally wish Bzip2 would not always use -9 as default when the filesize is 100k or so. But the author refused to implement such a fix (even though it wastes some memory, slows down decompression, and potentially worsens recovery possibilities).
