JED 0.99.18 (stable) + S-Lang 2.0.7 available (Announce)

After some discussion with JED author John E. Davis I decided to build JED version 0.99.18 again. This time with S-Lang version 2.0.7 instead of version 2.1.0, because that's just enough. ;-) Binary is 4 Kbyte smaller now and includes a "jedroot" patch, so it's not required to set JEDROOT environment variable, if you keep directory structure from .ZIP file.

Download: http://www.bttr-software.de/misc/jed9918d.zip

P.S. A WIP build from Subversion repository linked against latest S-Lang will be available "soon".
P.P.S. Thanks Jason Hood for reviewing my "jedroot" patch. :-)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but JED is a nice folding editor with popular key bindings (Wordstar, Emacs, vi), built-in Man and Info reader, menus on all platforms, S-Lang (configurable extensions, e.g. grep, tar, pcre, etc.), and -batch for cmdline editing a la sed.

Any other major features that I'm forgetting? ;-)

Okay. It's just that some people never update things even when told to do so! (Very frustrating for someone trying to help!)

I notified John not before yesterday, so it might take some days.

If he is aware of your build, why doesn't he mirror it (instead of only the older 0.99.16 DOS .ZIP)?
