BSD alternatives to coreutils (Developers)

Sure -- i'm always interested in new stuff for my fave o/s! :) Especially
if more DOS-like than the GNU utils (which tend to give me a headache).
However, i have minimal programming skills, so i doubt that i could
contribute much to development beyond testing.

Many Win9x command-line executables (and even some gui) will work in real
DOS with Japheth's HX runtime. Undoubtedly, pure DOS ports would be a
more-ideal solution (?), but HX-friendly ones could be a viable
alternative.
