I didn't talk about "embedded" and I mentioned the reason in my previous post. To repeat myself: the productivity advantage achieved by C compared to ASM is not significant if portability isn't an issue.

Yes. But what's the point? Do you believe that the chain ASM -> C -> C++ -> C# does also - quite naturally - suggest a productivity boost for each level?
