Yes. It would probably detract too much from simply the ability to make good programs.

Technically possible and doable I think, but I don't know what Nikolay has planned in this department.

Short term I guess his goals are compiling/testing increasingly complex programs(*) and laying in foundations in the compilers for the various memory models.

Some optimization (to generate better code than TP) would also be in order.
FPC has better general compiler abilities (register allocation, inlining etc), but TP has a handtuned target dependent optimizer.

(*) since that would open up compiling the FPC testsuite to check for regressions and omissions
