Hx extender support for openwatcom 1.6 (DOSX)

posted by iw2evk, Magenta (Italy), 16.11.2007, 13:28

Hi at all,

i run owc++ 1.6 on my notebook WITH POWERIDE 5.0 graphical ide support.
Now i try to install the hx support for owcc.
I've executed all passage from documentation , but from option menue, submenue LINKER , i can't select HX extender.see note from package:
2. Installation

a). Installing HX's Support for OW

- copy file HX.LNK to \WATCOM\BINW. Then open file
\WATCOM\BINW\WLSYSTEM.LNK with an editor and add this line:

@%watcom%\binw\hx.lnk

After the modification WLINK will know "system hx" and "system hxraw".
However, you will have to ensure that files DPMIST32.BIN and/or
DPMILD32.BIN can be found by WLINK, the easiest way to achieve this is
to copy these files to the WATCOM\BINW directory.

The modifications may be omitted if you want to create native Win32
console applications only, then feed WLINK with "system nt" and install
HXLdr32 in native DOS to run the binaries.

- copy files from OWnn\*.* to \WATCOM\LIB386\DOS\*.*.
(nn is 13 for OW version 1.3 and 14 for OW versions 1.4 or newer)
This step is required only if "system hxraw" is to be used.

It's correct this procedure with poweride 5.0 installed??
