MS-Dos 6.2 on a crippled Wyse Sx0 ThinClient (How-tos)
This could be in how-to or Misc.
I'm a big fan of making things work, that are not meant to. So, running into this "adventure" was very entertaining to me. -> https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/wyse/s10/stefan.shtml (I am not Stefan)
I own a Sx0 machine (2nd version) and the machine is nothing to write home about. I've had good luck using EDR Dos on it (and Win98 on a ram disk). Protected-Mode wasn't always a problem, depending on what EMM I used. I did get the same "divide by Zero" error, as mentioned in the linked story, while attempting to boot Win3x 386-mode. I intend to port audio initiation, for the Sx0 (AC97), into SBemu/VSBHDA, if it already isn't in there (I don't think it is). But, it isn't the most important project in front of me.
Hope someone enjoys the read.
