Hello bencollver,

In addition, it seems that the miscompilation that ultimately caused the crash was this:

000: 83 f8 cc cmp $0xffffffcc,%eax

This is apparently the i < SYM_POOL_NB part, and SYM_POOL_NB (= (8192 / sizeof(Sym))) should definitely not be 0xffffffcc.
