nvclock dos/win32 update (Announce)

posted by RayeR Homepage, CZ, 03.03.2009, 01:05

Hi,
I made some updates to nVClock:
1) extended debuch info - now displays more registers (some are important for me such as Flat Panel RAMDAC CRTCs including scaling mode, etc.)
2) added new function -e, --expansion <mode> that allows you to set DFP scaling mode. Native mode works differently than it is set by 4F14h BIOS call (my old nvsc utility). I can get 1280x1024 in true native mode on my 1600x1200 LCD but other modes cause LCD out of sync. I'd like if someone else will try it.

BTW: I successfully patched my 7900GT VESA BIOS bug that caused VESA modes >1280x1024 was hidden from the list. Now I got back all available VESA modes :). This patch will be easy portable on other nVidioted BIOSes, if someone interested I can send releated part of DASMed code and where to put the magic RETN :)

---
DOS gives me freedom to unlimited HW access.
