Why not just download linux binary and update your SDL package? I didn't tried it under my debian linux but hope it would work without problem. Hexen soundtrack, esp in datadisk Portal of Praevus is good. It would be nice if the engine support playing MP3(OGG/whatever) files from disk instead of audiotracks from CD.
