Few weeks ago I found and reported serious error in FPC optimizer, look here:
http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=18113

It should be fixed now in last snapshot (Thanks Jonas).
The overall stability of DOS version could be much improved now.

Please, make some tests about it.
