	This is very unfortunate, but the DOS version has been removed from the official website. I don't understand why... It is common sense that the DOS version would be the most useful even for cleaning Windows! Fortunately, definition files may still be downloaded freely.

It is good to hear that I'm wrong. =) Thanks for the link. I didn't notice it on your website. By the way, when I started from http://www.f-prot.com/, I couldn't reach that download location. The following was all I found: "We no longer offer F-PROT Antivirus for DOS. Please refer to F-PROT Antivirus for Windows or our products for other platforms for your needs." This might mean that the DOS version will soon be removed. If you visit http://www.f-prot.com/download/home_user/, the link to the DOS version does not exist!

Eric didn't do the port, Joergen Ibsen did. And I recently contacted him via e-mail, but he's too busy to (probably) do it again these days:

I pointed him to my FreeDOS mini distro, hoping that would help get him up and running. But he needs time, so I didn't press him too hard. (Besides, we still have F-Prot, as mentioned above, and others like RHBVS).

The only OSes that are "unvirable" are systems employing decent security mechanisms (a la linux/bsd/etc)

Software attacks were already old, 25 years ago. It was no big trouble for attackers to extend their range to DOS, and no big news to knowing administrators and users that defense would be nice.
