DOSLFN has slow writes. It is not so markant on normal 8+3 files (although some slowdown is present) but on true LFN files it is quite a lot. (the longer filename the slower writes). Especially big problems has DOSLFN when writting entries like SOME_VERY_LONG_FILENAME_1.dat, SOME_VERY_LONG_FILENAME_2.dat and so on. Diskcache helps but not so much because usually only reads are cached - not writes. --- |
