Good news :)
Unfortunatelly 2 weeks before now our fucking czech national bank decided to downgrade CZK value by lowering course to world's currencies so we pay ~10% more :\
Anyway the price is better than I expected. So now just to choose which version to buy :)

I hope they offer another version with 512MB soon. It should only cost $5 or $10 more. Heck, an 16x128MB chip (2GB DDR3) is $18 on new egg while 8x256MB (2GB) chips are $20. I have some applications in mind where the extra RAM would be handy.

I think that for intended various controlling applications is 256MB more than enough. I wouldn't expect that someone will use it for heavy data processing, you seem to be exception. I would accept even 128 or 64M but DRAM chips are cheap that it wouldn't make extra saving.
BTW what is the shipping cost?

I just walked through the registration process and shipping to California, 93552, USA is $70 for one 86duino ZERO. Ouch! However, it only goes up in the following ways:

$70 when you order 1.
$173 when you order 10.
$301 when you order 25.
$402 when you order 50.
$402 when you order 100.
$402 when you order 1000.

I'm guess 50+ is the sweet spot.

Also, you can only order the 86duino EduCake and 86duino ZERO. The Vortex86EX SOM-128-EX is only available for "Special Order". Assume that mean you need to make a direct contact prior to sale.

Damn, this prices are killing. They should make some deal with e.g. DealExtreme china eshop who ships all goods over the world for zero pricing.
Here in Czech republic there's very few interested users so I couldn't reach order for 10 pcs. I saw that the company should be present on Embedded World 2014 exhibition in Nurnberg so I try to ask them if they could bring some boards with them, I hope I'll be there on exhibition too again...

Well, at a $70 shipping charge, I'm out, unless I can find 10 people in Calif. to split the order with, which may be possible, but even $17 sounds high for shipping what is probably a 100g package at most. Perhaps some Ebay sellers will show up who will have ordered lots of 1000 and can pass the shipping savings along...

I think there should be enough of a worldwide demand for a 512 MB version, even if it means only manufacturing 1000 units to start with. Judging by the demand for Raspberry PI, I'd say they should definitely offer it.

Maybe we could approach a company like Mouser or Element14 to pick up a large order.

I also asked DM&P directly if they offered volume discounts.

The 86duino is out!

I got new info from DMP shop. Unfortunatelly the will not sell 86Duino at Embedded World - it's different division of company. But they suggested me a reseller in Germany http://www.watterott.com/ that should have 86Duino on stock next week. It's far from Nurnberg so I will not visit them personally.

I'm just back from Embedded, Nurnberg. I saw there DMP booth but they only presented some small embedded industrial PCs in box with vortex86, not the 86duino, I will order it from watterott. I also saw intel's Galieleo board with attached LCD and JTAG debugger, they didn't show that SD size version yet.
