Screen Thief 2.00 - one of its kind (Users)

Screen Thief 2.00 was first freeware version of this versatile screen grabbing program for DOS. Unfortunately it was also last with built-in GIF support.

I spent days trying to find this version somewhere on the Internet, but unfortunately to no avail. I even attempted to scan few dozens of software CD collections so popular in 90s, but all I found were earlier non-free versions.

Of course I've used archive.org's Wayback Machine on original developer's website, without any success.

As you can see I was not lazy and I did my legwork already.

Does any fellow DOS software collector here has this particular version stashed somewhere? If so, please kindly share.

Hello rosegondon,

Hmm... interesting. I did find copies of Screen Thief 2.01 and 2.04 on the vast Internets, but not 2.00.

Thank you!

And you find 1.57 and 1.58.

I think, I had 2.00 once, but unfortunately I don't have it anymore.

It appears that version 2.00, if ever released, was a sort of internal release and never actually released to public. Even on old Russian sites, I see every version from v. 1.56 on upwards and no mention of a version 2.00 nor download link. Tried all the common name variants like sthief200.rar st200f.rar with no results as well. No results with ftp indexing sites, either. I just use a cracked version of v. 1.58 which does have .GIF support. I don't ever remember seeing 2.00 back in the day, either.
