I rebuilt it with all optimizations enabled (for the newest CPUs) and it works like a charm. Fantastic fps (even with vesa video output), very smooth playing, no crash etc. The only problem is that I had to disable allegro, because my newest sound card doesn't have neither hardware, nor software SB emulation. A low-level sound library must be ported, but I don't know which one. |

With the NVIDIA cards still not supported by cvidix drivers, vesa is fast enough. OTOH, as I told you before, if you use mplayer with "-vo vesa:vidix" there is no more need to set the mode with another program, it is set by the vesa driver. The video output is not an issue any more. It has the same quality as the Windows port. |
