CGXDROM driver (Announce)

Today I accidentaly found a driver which should write with both SATA and PATA types of CD/DVD-drives. Maybe it could be useful for someone:
http://lexapass.narod.ru/xgcdrom_bin.ZIP

There is a small info utility about SATA and PATA devices in your computer:
http://lexapass.narod.ru/XGCDScan.zip

And this is the main page deticated to makinga booting flash disks:
http://lexapass.narod.ru/#Projects

If it's based on the GNU GPL'ed GCDROM/XCDROM source the author has to make the source available as well. (Or probably it is already somewhere; I can't read the page. Just tried some links and read the English part of the read-me file.)

And yes, the name of the driver sounds hilarious.

XGCDROM is definitely based on GCDROM/XCDROM/UIDE! Just look at the order of strings inside.

What's the difference between this and UIDE or Mark Tsai's GCDROM? (I'm not being sarcastic, just wondering if it does something those don't.)

UIDE is not FLOSS.
GCDROM was developed for SATA drives.

I just did try the links in this announce and was redirected each
time to http://narod.yandex.ru/ which
1) Seems a hosting site
2) Has no mention of an english page
3) Seems to require an username/password in order to enter
FYI
JAS

EDIT by rr: fixed URL

Must be a problem of your browser. The page opens fine here. If you need the files, I could send you by e-mail.

Apparently, this is less tested than UIDE, just FYI:

Last week I found that these files disappeared from Lexapass site.
So I mailed him and he was so kind and sent me these files on mail.
I uploaded them on my site:
XGCDROM
XGCDscan

Okay, but make sure to try UIDE first! And tell us what does or doesn't work that makes you want to use such thing (which Jack admits is old, buggy, and unsupported).

 I know UIDE very good, of course.
However it does not work on my HP Pavolon dv6 notebook with SATA/AHCI only mode so I try various alternatives.
