Duke nukem 3D enhanced (Announce)

There are few 3D gamers on this site. So I hope you enjoy this link
http://archive.dukertcm.com/eduke/

It is a enhancement of Duke3D engine. I haven't discovered it much so far and haven't played. I'll try it until few hours.

Okay, this may be incredibly naive, but I tried with the shareware version, and it didn't work. Meh. Perhaps it still has code for it, so maybe I could recompile (doubtful, but maybe later).

I don't have version 1.5 installed on my netbook right now, so I tried to run that (eduke 2.1 binaries) with my Duke 1.3 , I've got a crash (dos4gw exeption, invalid opcode, blah, blah). And more, after that crash I've got weird CPU behavior, I ran other apps after that and they run at variable speed (faster, slower, faster, slower). So be careful.

As I see from the info on the site, this patch has to do something with modding Duke, but honestly I have never did any modding to original Duke. However, I did a lot of maps for Duke and almost mastered the 'build' map editor. And of course, it was prohibited to run modded Duke on dukematch gatherings I took part in end of 90's.

It isn't working for me either. Alwayas gives a segmentation error. I tried to preload various DPMI hosts or use alternative extenders but nothing helped. Maybe recompilation would help but I am not able to do it.

News in Mediaeval style

Something pushed me to turn on the TV today and what did I see!
First time after more than 400 years the Somalian pirates, which were persuaded and caught by Dutch sailors, will face at tribunal.
And there is another one , which reminds me of Blood and Shadowwarrior (so can't be treated as off-topic). Today, the former chinese student Suiu Zenn (who was kicked off in 2008) of St.Petersburg, my home town, medical Institute of academician Pavlov, slayered one of its magisters with a SWORD. And he says he left her head in a city public autobus.
Just like that.

Poor amateur, these bad guys beheaded over 100 people each during a day at WW2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contest_to_kill_100_people_using_a_sword
But they were Japanese, descendants of Samurais.

BTW I like Blood and Shadowwarrior games too. Still hoping that someday Monolith reveal all sources and let fans make some Blood remake :)

I think they are real proof of that games are good not only if they use latest directX, but if they are well made, have good action ... and teach to love each other :-)

That link you gave is shocking. But it was war time and a sad period of world history.
And this murder in the university looks very strange, you know, St. Peterburg, snow-storm, a chinese student with head in plastic bag. Very unlikely that he is familiar with Bulgakov or Dostoevsky prose or something like that.
By latest news , the victim was a helpless 59-years old women (!). The murderer refuses to say (or doesn't remember), finally, where is the head.
