Marcov: it compiled OK but the run time result was incorrect. I posted the code snippet on the FreePascal FreeVision board about 2 months ago but had no reply.

Given that I was told that Free Vision is not 100% compatible with Turbo Vision and that there is no documentation for Free Vision I did not persist.

See my other recent posts. I have changed a heap usage setting in a 3rd party B-Tree system I'm using and this seems to have solved the problem, both for the real and protected mode compilations of my app.
