QBASIC / QuickBASIC (Users)

QBASIC / QuickBASIC communities did a lot of cool stuff over the years, including tons of games. (I'd "almost" suggest sparky jump to that somehow instead of fighting with C++.) There are still some sites around for that. However, I don't know if there's much interest in that anymore. I think a big chunk of such people moved on to other places (FreeBASIC, QB64). But you never know who's still active, it's impossible to survey the entire world.

QBASIC (interpreter only) isn't widely distributed anymore. It's still on MS' FTP in OLDDOS.EXE, and paid MSDN allegedly still has QB45. But for QBASIC.EXE, I'm not sure if it's legal to download except to those with license for whatever MS-flavor OS (WinNT? OS/2? DOS?). PDS 7.1 and VBDOS, dunno (except for rare and ultra expensive copies on eBay).

I don't know if QB64 nor FreeBASIC intend to "fully" support QB syntax. They do a partial job so far (FB: at least with "-lang qb"), but it looks like the rest isn't a priority. So a lot of code will have to be fairly heavily adapted to "newer" dialects.
