Thanks! Since FTE is my favorite DOS editor, I did a few tests. It works fine, and in a WinXP DOS-Box there's nothing to complain about. However, in plain DOS - no cache loaded! - there's a small problem: it's very slow if large files are viewed/edited. To load a 85 MB text file it needs 1-2 minutes, and pressing Alt-X to exit (file unmodified!) needs about 3-4 minutes until the DOS prompt appears.
