I imagine this is easy to workaround as there is int 21h, 7160h to convert LFN to SFN. I don't know if DJGPP has it in the libc already (probably). EDIT: Perhaps _truename_sfn, at least it sounds correct.

If you don't want the danger of mucking up your hard drive with LFNs, try StarLFN, it can work mostly the same with only needing to read / write into HISTORY.DAT file(s). I haven't tried lately, but it may need "attrib -h" on HISTORY.DAT for some DOSes. A simple one-byte hack or reassemble can make that permanent (ask me if necessary, it's really not hard).
