I haven't done anything remotely "embedded" since I maintained a Linux satellite radio simulator driver and developed protocol analyzers (dissectors) in ethereal (now wireshark) along with some initial integration testing of the radio system that would go into the mars science lander for NASA more than 10 years ago. We were playing with enabling standard tcp/ip software in space.
