DOS ain't dead ain't dead (Announce)

posted by Brian_extended, 02.11.2013, 21:20

I've been working with PC-104 stacks (and there successors) and the "ICOP" Vortex 86DX board. The latter ships with FreeDOS on it. I use them in a Lab as realtime controllers, single-process with all inline drivers and interrupt handlers is a perfect for the job.

I hit the "barrier at the end of the universe" where PLINK86 could not handle more symbols in the overlay linker. "Bit the big one" and converted all of my code from real mode to Phar Lap extended mode. I've used both continuously since the 1980s.
