Interresting software for file/partion/disk restoration (Announce)

posted by KormaX, 19.04.2021, 17:26

Thanks. I tried it and its useful to copy files to an NTFS partiton with long filenames, as Paragon Software's NTFS driver is buggy whet it comes to LFN support (it bypasses the system's LFN driver and works well when copying from the NTFS volume, but the other way around, it always writes 8.3 first which must be renamed in a separate step to the desired long name. This tool writes the correct filename immediately). I suppose it might also be useful if I need to repair NTFS partitions (which I hope I won't XD), but I just found something I can use it very often.

DOS isn't about why. It's about why not.
