Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is due to you (and most people) not having enough test machines to verify. And, since it currently works for you (and everyone else that we know of), it shouldn't be changed unless it can be literally proven that it won't work for someone else. So far that hasn't happened. Maybe in 3.33 a comment can be added explaining the "JMP $+2" workaround (in case anyone decides to try it).

P.S. Japheth, HIMEMXX is what you sent me (unofficially) after 3.30 but before the 3.31 fix. Like I said, it didn't work on my old 486 (although Devore's last HIMEM 3.26 did) until HIMEMX 3.31. Maybe I'll try e-mailing Blair and Jason to try their 386s. Or somebody here could perhaps ask for testing on the FreeDOS users mailing list??

EDIT: And don't forget, worst case scenario: just use XMGR or HIMEM 3.26 or FDXMS286 instead (and if that works and HIMEMX doesn't, then it may be a bug).
