OW 1.8 isn't released yet, so at best you're only using a beta. Anyways, you don't need that (or MASM), use Japheth's forked JWasm.

Obviously WASM leaves a bit to be desired in its MASM compatibility.

Just to be clear, what was it that DN didn't do before that it does now (file copying?)? And what version of DN (DN151, DNOSP, NDN)?

Just curious, but what kinds of programs do you run on it? Games? Programming (e.g. DJGPP)? How big is the HD? How much RAM? (Just curious.)
