FASM lacks OMF/OBJ support (16- / 32-bit) (Announce)

I addressed whether the OMF object or MZ executable format is required for 16-bit Real Mode (since 16-bit PM isn't used much) projects written in Assembly. Anyway, most HLL compilers don't output _any_ executable format directly but support only object formats or sometimes assembly source. Support of executable formats should then belong to the linker.
