I don't know either, but either way, it's almost not an attack on you (and would be unwarranted if so). I think he's trying to say that good ideas are worth fighting for, but at the same time, I believe that peace and compromise aren't bad things to strive for either. Else you get competing standards and have to reinvent the wheel over and over again. (Sound familiar? Welcome to the modern world, ugh.)
