As mentioned earlier I do vaguely remember seeing a low level ZIP editing DOS util which would allow editing of these types of fields. As I use to use a lot of ZIP/BBS utils that were hosted on Simtel, I did a quick check though via Jason's copy here: http://cd.textfiles.com/simtel/

Couldn't spot anything (on a quick look) but would suggest that anyone needing such a util has a good look through fileutil, sysutil, archive util, bbs util on the above. Thank you Jason for providing that good online archive.

:) Thanks but I am trying to *reduce* my todo list and get some more free DOS stuff out the door (carefully balanced against life/other stuff as is always the way). So sorry, no plans to even re-investigate my old work in this area.

PKWare have moved things around since last time I referenced/coded for the ZIP format but I have confirmed that they still have the ZIP application note (file structure) available online here:
