No, I do not consider any CWSDPMI release stable.

Yes, because CWSDPMI is used by everyone and their DJGPP.

Downgrade? I suddenly think I don't understand what (both of) you are talking about. (What DPMI server/release is shipped by default if CWSDPMI r7 is a downgrade?)
