The author must be using a replacement CRT unit (good) b/c I think it would show up for sure with such a machine.

Make sure to use the latest FDAPM from Eric's page. Also, I guess you know that newer kernels have IDLEHALT, which may somewhat help too (but only a little?).

I also got a new laptop recently (and suspect DOS386 did too after seeing that bear test thingy). But now I need/want a wireless router (b/c the wired one we have ain't gonna cut it). Also, I have yet to make a bootable USB jumpdrive (tried but failed, need to try again). QEMU is good, I guess, but real hardware is better. :-P
