MPXplay under CWSDPMI (Users)

BTW, detecting CWSDPMI at runtime is very very easy.

You could try D3X, but no guarantees it works better. At least, I know shelling out from TDE (which used CWSDPMI) won't crash, IIRC, unlike WDOSX stuff.

He's not naive, he knows it's still used fairly widely, I think he's just being realistic that DOS isn't top tier and is mostly ignored these days.
