Correct it's RLE. Very easy to implement. Indeed I remember there was/is a PCX viewer in asm for 320x200 which compiles to 128 bytes which interestingly means you can just replace the useless header with the viewer. Very cool ;)

Yeah just quickly looked at my old BMP code. Looks to me like (at least in the past) that although BMP structure itself had to entries "CompressionType + CompressedImageSize" that things like the BMP/DIB clipboard format didn't !

Yup hence I never wrote a viewer myself/well also moved onto other things.

Yeah totally agree .TXT is best. Has to also have the .TXT extension as sadly as you know we lost the .DOC one a long time ago... !!!
