Most likely this is not specific to the file but the system, crashing file (exploits the offset-BUG too, see bottom):

It does NOT crash if I send the video into PNG or YUV4MPEG ... sounds plays OK and when done I can separately view the video from the YUV4MPEG file :-( Maybe it initializes the sound output hardware even if I specify "-ao null -ac null" ? It does not crash if no supported soundcard is found. Looks like a silly resource conflict: real sound output + VESA + OGG -> BOOM . If I omit "-really-quiet" then it says "crash in decode video" :-|

Another BUG: "-vo png" doesn't work if in main directory (IIRC this is another MPLAYER-old-hat-BUG ...).
