If you must retarget employees that could also do profitable things it does hurt. And the benefit is for less than an handful minimalists that apparantly never buy anything new from Microsoft :-)

Please. The people that worked at MS in the early days all became millionair on stockoptions and retired before 2000. For Vista/W7 they basically reverse engineered parts of their own kernel (search for "the big cycle" on the web)

Try it. Maybe if you guarantee a few million licenses sold, they'll probably listen. It could be that they happily fix your bugs if you make them an offer they can't refuse :-)

They are doing profitable stuff, and catching up to android
