32-bit MSDOS (Announce)

posted by kerravon E-mail, Ligao, Free World North, 27.06.2021, 22:12

Another thing of interest, especially since there
are so many Germans here.

I don't wish to support UTF-8. I want to return
to having non-ASCII characters in the top 128
bytes.

People can code using wchar_t, but I have defined
that as one byte.

The Vietnamese need 6 control characters to be
released, so I have found 6 that don't interfere
with micro-emacs keystrokes that I use or
anything else. VISCII takes things I use.

The Chinese are the only people who have
exceeded 2 bytes, so they can have a wchar_t
of 4, which will incidentally cover anyone
who likes Unicode.

All they need to do is recompile. They do not
need to depend on Microsoft.

BFN. Paul.
