If some American company wishes to compete with
Microsoft Windows, even in a limited sphere, and
makes a decision that they want to close-source
their product, and not be subjected to anyone
else's license/copyrighted code, what do you
suggest they do? Write from scratch?

Is PDOS/386, a somewhat working Win32 subset,
of zero value whatsoever? None of the code can
be reused, nevermind using the entire thing as
a base? It all needs to be rewritten from scratch?

If that's the case, well, fine, I didn't really
have anything better to do for the last 27 years
anyway.

It's normal practice to do market research then
build the product, but I have done the reverse.
