about to fix the "final" doslfn bug (Announce)

posted by Laaca Homepage, Czech republic, 11.04.2022, 11:24

I have an another question about DOSLFN.
Lets say that I have on my USB stick a mixture on MP3s. Some are from czech singers and some from russian singers.
The czech ones use the coding 852 and the russian ones are in cyrilic (cp-866).
As long I use this stick in windows there is no problem as everything is handled in UTF-8.
But in DOS + doslfn is a problem that it use the unicode--codepage transcoding.
If I would like to copy the USB stick to my harddisk I suppose that I have to firstly copy the czech files, then switch the DOSLFN codepage to russian (cp866uni.tbl) and run it again.
Or am I wrong and simple "copy G:\*.* C:\MUSIC" would be OK?

DOS-u-akbar!
